Nella Mazzeois a practicing artist with a background in Secondary Visual Arts Education and Community Languages (Italian).
With majors in Fine Arts (History) and European languages, Nella has combined an 18 year teaching career in artmaking, art history, design and technology, with developing her own art practice in drawing, painting, photography and ceramics.
Nella’s paintings feature a love of nature and connection to the land and the soul of the earth, with influences from the Australian Heidelberg school, the French Impressionists, Post Impressionists and Pop ad.
In recent years, Nella’s interest has turned towards photography and digital media including digitally manipulated photography. She is currently developing a body of works which feature photographs of Rock Stars from Australia and New Zealand- the POP culture of the 1970’s. Nella is exploring optical and sensory effects of colour and how these may impact on the psyche of the viewer. Her work on “Idols and Icons and Colour” aims to communicate the idea of sound as a frequency through colour in a visual form.
Nella’s solo exhibition at 31 Arts Studio of Music and Arts in 2015 featured works in drawing, painting, photography and digital media.
