2017 – Conditions of Entry

ENTRY
Entries must be the original work of the artist. Copies or appropriations of other artwork or work previously exhibited at ‘Art on Loftus’ will not be accepted.
Each entrant may submit a maximum of 3 artworks. Multi-sectional works (diptych/triptych etc) must conform overall to the Artwork Size Specifications stated below, or be submitted as separate works.

ARTWORK SIZE SPECIFICATIONS
Photography – A2 594 x 420mm
Sculpture – height 2m/ width 1m / depth 1m / weight 20kg.
2D artworks – Total area 1.5 square metres including framing.
SELECTION
Every effort will be made to exhibit all artwork submitted, however the curators reserve the right to determine whether a work is appropriate for an exhibition sponsored by C3 Church with children in attendance. Artworks & framing must be of suitable quality. No refund will be given for unhung works.
PREPARATION OF ART WORKS
All artworks including photography are to be properly framed, strung and ready for hanging – no wet paintings, no screw eyes or projections, string must be taut. A stretched canvas must have finished edges and no staples visible. A label showing the artist’s name, phone number, title of work, medium and price must be on the back of each art work or on the underside of sculptures. There will be no facility at delivery for stringing of artworks.
DELIVERY OF ARTWORKS
Artworks will be received at the
C3 Church Carlingford Training Centre,
7 Loftus Rd, Pennant Hills,
on Thursday 9 November 2017 between 2pm and 8pm.
COLLECTION OF ARTWORKS
All entries will remain on show for the duration of the exhibition. Sold & unsold artworks must be collected by the exhibitor, purchaser or person with written authority, between 4.45pm and 6.30pm on Sunday 26 November 2017. If you are unable to collect within this time frame, alternative arrangements MUST be made BEFORE the close of the exhibition. Non-collected artworks will be disposed of at the discretion of the AOL Team.
JUDGING AND PRIZES
Category Prizes will be awarded solely by the judge. Encouragement prizes will be selected by AOL team leaders. With the exception of the People’s Choice Award, awards will be presented at the Award Night on Friday 24 November, 2017 from 7.30pm. The Judge and AOL Team decision’s are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD
Voting is open from 10am Thursday 23 November until 9pm, Saturday 25 November. The winner will be notified and the award presented at the 10.30 am church service of C3 Church Carlingford, Sunday 26 November, at Carlingford High School Hall, 547 North Rocks Rd, Carlingford.
SALE OF WORKS
20% Commission will be charged on all sales (10% to be retained by AOL & 10% to be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association as a special initiative for the 2017, 10 Year Celebration of AOL) . If GST should be applied to the sale of your artwork please include it in the total sale price. Cheques for sold works will be posted within 21 working days. Works may be ‘Not For Sale’ (NFS). An additional 10% surcharge will apply to multi-sectional artworks where one part is sold separately.
CARE & RESPONSIBILITY
All artists must arrange their own insurance to cover damage, loss or theft. C3 Church Carlingford & the AOL team will take all reasonable care but will not be held responsible for loss or damage to any submitted work whilst in transit, storage, or on display at the AOL exhibition.
COPYRIGHT/PRIVACY
AOL reserve the right to photograph and use images of any artwork submitted for AOL associated purposes including posting images on its dedicated website www.artonloftus.org.au. All necessary acknowledgments of authorship will be made. All personal information collected will be used solely for AOL and associated events.
